Yangi Closed its Series A Investment to scale their molded fiber dry-forming technology, backed early by Futurelab & Partners

Sustainable packaging pioneer secures €10 million (US$11.7 million) to scale its dry-forming technology, with Futurelab & Partners — Yangi's first institutional backer — continuing on as a shareholder.

Stockholm, September 2025 — Futurelab & Partners (FP) today congratulates portfolio company Yangi on the close of an oversubscribed €10 million (US$11.7 million) Series A round, led by Industrifonden with participation from Almi Invest GreenTech and two undisclosed global industrial groups. Existing shareholders Chanel, Voith, Turret Oy and FP all continued their backing in the round.

FP was Yangi's first investor, having backed the company at the pre-seed stage when it spun out of The Loop Factory in 2022 under founder Anna Altner. Yangi's proprietary Cellera® dry-forming technology converts paper fibre into recyclable packaging, cutting CO₂ emissions, and energy consumption relative to conventional plastic packaging. The Series A will fund industrialization of the technology at scale and continued R&D into next-generation fibre-based solutions.

Sixten Eriksson, founder of FLX — FP’s investment arm — supported Yangi’s management team through the fundraising process.

“We backed Anna and the Yangi team at pre-seed because we believed dry forming technology could genuinely displace plastic in packaging — not just at pilot scale, but industrially. Seeing Chanel, Voith and now Industrifonden validate that thesis with real capital is exactly the outcome we build for.”
“An oversubscribed Series A led by Industrifonden, on top of strategic backing from Chanel and Voith, is a strong signal for Scandinavia’s biomaterial sector. It was a privilege to support Anna and her team through this process.”
